Earth Day
 
Earth Day - Laxman Public SchoolLaxman Public School celebrated the Earth Day with fan fare. Dr. Neil Taylor of Australia spoke to the members of the club in the senior school. As a part of the day’s proceeding, the senior school students of classes VII, VIII and IX participated in number of competitions that included slogan writing, painting and paper bag making. Books related to academics were disturbed as prizes.

The Earth Day was officially held on April 22, 2009. The programme began with the tree plantation ceremony which was attended by representatives from member schools of the UKIERI Cluster. The senior students presented a self composed song titled 'Emerald Ocean' which spoke about the fulfilling life of a water drop. Students of classes V and VI presented talks on the significance of celebrating the Earth Day. They also presented a street play with the message of managing e-waste.
 
JUNIOR SCHOOL
Junior school had a week-long Earth Day Celebrations. They were busy making posters and crossword puzzles, besides writing creative articles on how to conserve natural resources and save the Earth.

Students of classes I and II collected biodegradable material and put the entire week’s waste in a ditch.

Students of class III and IV recited poems based on Earth, Environment, Aforestation and promoting renewable energy.

The young students of classes 5 and 6 also organized a pledge signing campaign. Save the environment, save water, save electricity, walk more, use less fuel were some of the punch lines.
