Laxman Public School observed Sewa Day (on the occasion of the birthday of Dada J P Vaswani) on 1st August. Mrs Usha Ram, Principal says that it is a day which is dedicated only to service. On this day the students are sensitized towards the underprivileged and the suffering. The students contribute at least a days' pocket money (voluntary) towards this charitable cause. The entire school is involved on this day to make the programme a success. In the morning assembly the students presented a skit highlighting the spirit of kindness, compassion, flexibility, tolerance and fairness in the day to day life. The children of classes I and II feed the birds and rabbits. A group of students from different classes distributed toys and magazines to the sick children of the Pediatrics ward in AIIMS. Students of classes V to VI along with XI class students visited Cheshire Home and distributed clothes. Fruit and biscuits was distributed by the students at NAB (National Association for the Blind). A group of children went to Leper's Home and distributed fruits and biscuits to the inmates and donated old clothes. Notebooks and pencils were distributed to the children of Vidya, an NGO working towards bringing light and laughter to the neediest of the needy. The students of class XI prepared and served a hearty lunch to the community learners and the working staff of the school.
