Laxman Public School organised 'A Peek into the World of Roald Dahl', as a tribute to the genius of the poet.

The show wreathed together a number of performances ranging from the recitation of beautiful poems like 'Mike Teavee' and 'The Toad and The Snail', reading of excerpts from 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'Matilda', PowerPoint presentations on the poet's life and works with synchronised enactments and a costume drama based on 'The Enormous Crocodile'. The enthusiasm of the little children to show their love for their favourite poet through their performances was indeed heartening. Those watching the show were literally transcended into the wonderland, children usually visit in their reveries. The musings of the poet in the form of his childhood fantasies also took the adults on an odyssey back into their childhood.

Special guest, Ms. Ankita Mukherjee, Senior Editor, NDTV was truly pleased with the enthralling performances and she reminisced reading Roald Dahl as her favourite author, when she was a small child herself. Principal, Usha Ram shared her experiences with the children, praised them for displaying their love for reading and encouraged them to read more to develop their creativity and imagination.
